ArabKB

// ArabKB

A bilingual K-Beauty storefront for Arab shoppers, with a category-led shopping experience, multi-currency pricing and a full admin dashboard behind it.

01

Overview

ArabKB is a Korean-beauty marketplace built for Arab shoppers: a category-led storefront where visitors browse by skin concern or by brand, see prices in their own currency, and check out, backed by a full admin dashboard that runs the catalog, orders, coupons and content from the same Laravel application.

02

Challenge

K-Beauty shoppers arrive two ways: some search by a skin concern (acne, anti-aging, brightening), others by a brand they already trust. The store also spans several Arab markets, so a price shown in one currency means little to a visitor used to another. The storefront had to serve both browsing habits at once and make prices feel local, without turning into two separate sites.

03

Solution

The home page leads with shop-by-category tiles and a featured and new-arrivals rail, so both the concern-driven and brand-driven shopper find a path in the first screen. A filterable catalog narrows by category and brand, product pages carry reviews and wishlists, and a currency switcher re-prices the whole store in EGP, SAR, KWD or AED. Checkout is cash-on-delivery with city-based shipping, matching how these markets actually buy.

04

Engineering

Laravel 13 with Breeze handles authentication and Spatie Permission provides role-based access for staff. Live exchange rates are fetched relative to an EGP base, cached for six hours and backed by fallback rates so pricing never breaks if the rate API is down. Checkout runs inside a database transaction: stock is validated, inventory decremented, shipping computed by city and coupon usage tracked, all committed together or rolled back as one.

05

Architecture

One Laravel application renders both the customer storefront and the admin dashboard through Blade, Alpine.js and Tailwind, with a parallel set of API controllers exposing the catalog, cart, orders, auth and currency as JSON. Business logic lives in CartService and CheckoutService rather than the controllers, and the schema evolved through timestamped migrations with bilingual fields, soft deletes and role-based permissions.

06

Features

Shop by category and by brand, filterable catalog, product reviews and wishlists, multi-currency pricing (EGP, SAR, KWD, AED) with live rates, discount coupons, cash-on-delivery checkout with city-based shipping, customer accounts, and a full admin dashboard, in Arabic and English.

Results

The screenshots show the running storefront: the home page, category grid, featured and new-arrivals listings and account sign-in. Products, prices and brands are illustrative catalog data, and no sales figures are claimed.
